 Prompt Response: As I've gotten older, Christmas has gone from being about presents to being more about my family. I remember being so excited to open presents when I was a little girl. Nowadays I'm happy to bake cookies for my family because I know how much they like them. I realized that I won't be able to live with them forever, so I should enjoy the close time we have together now. It's about how I can cherish time together with them now.


Summary: We began to watch The Color Purple movie.


Reflection: I learned that movie adaptations are often less detailed than their book counterparts. I will make sure to read books before watching their movie adaptations.

Prompt Response: I believed that I would always be friends with my first best friend. We were best friends for around seven years before we stopped being friends. I realized that we had grown apart and that there wasn't anything I could do about it. I realized that overtime you meet new people and lose your old friends, and that is just how life goes. Everyone needs to move on. Summary: We read more of The Color Purple and wrote a poem. Reflection: I realized that women have always been fighting for more freedom. I will use this to continue fighting for women's rights.

Prompt Response: I recently realized that my boyfriend always said crud and terribly. I thought it was really funny because I had never heard anyone else say it as much as him. When I realized this, I found out that we had really grown closer. It was nice to know that we had come to know each other better after several years. It was also a testament to our bond. Summary: We did a writable assignment on The Color Purple.  Reflection: I learned that there are many different ways to read one story. I will use this to look at one story from several points of view.
