Prompt Response: I've always been really into dinosaurs and extinct animals, and I wondered why they went extinct. If they were perfect forms of their species, then why would they die off? I always really liked them and I wondered what they actually looked like compared to their reconstructions. I still like learning more about dinosaurs and extinct animals. 


Summary: We worked on our character posters.


Reflection: I learned about how Lyons represents certain aspects of family. I will use this to compare his character to other characters.

Prompt Response: I believed that I would always be friends with my first best friend. We were best friends for around seven years before we stopped being friends. As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

Prompt Response: I recently realized that my boyfriend always said crud and terribly. I thought it was really funny because I had never heard anyone else say it as much as him. When I realized this, I found out that we had really grown closer. It was nice to know that we had come to know each other better after several years. It was also a testament to our bond. Summary: We did a writable assignment on The Color Purple.  Reflection: I learned that there are many different ways to read one story. I will use this to look at one story from several points of view.
