If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response: I would choose to bake their favorite dessert because I think it shows dedication because baking is time consuming. I would also crochet them a personal gift because I like showing my love through gift giving, and I think good hand made gifts really show that you're willing to put in the work. Lastly I would get them their favorite meal because in my culture, you show your love by sharing food.

Summary: We wrote poems for our most loved one.

Reflection: I realized that love is a very complicated matter and that you shouldn't linger on the past. I will think of this whenever I feel the need to linger in the past.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?
