Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

Prompt Response: I tried to bring letter 7 to life by using videos that captured the events that were being described. I was able to bring it to life through the use of music as well. I was aiming for a dejected tone because Celie was essentially being sold by her father. The latter was communicating to the audience that black women were mistreated during this time. I wanted to be able to show how depressed Celie must have been.


Summary: We watched video presentations for The Color Purple.


Reflection:  I learned about the different moods and themes that are present in The Color Purple. I will use this to expand my knowledge of this book and its characters.

Prompt Response: I believed that I would always be friends with my first best friend. We were best friends for around seven years before we stopped being friends. I realized that we had grown apart and that there wasn't anything I could do about it. I realized that overtime you meet new people and lose your old friends, and that is just how life goes. Everyone needs to move on. Summary: We read more of The Color Purple and wrote a poem. Reflection: I realized that women have always been fighting for more freedom. I will use this to continue fighting for women's rights.

Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

Prompt Response: I recently realized that my boyfriend always said crud and terribly. I thought it was really funny because I had never heard anyone else say it as much as him. When I realized this, I found out that we had really grown closer. It was nice to know that we had come to know each other better after several years. It was also a testament to our bond. Summary: We did a writable assignment on The Color Purple.  Reflection: I learned that there are many different ways to read one story. I will use this to look at one story from several points of view.
