Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

Prompt Response: When me and my best friend watched Twilight for the first time, we played the mustache game. We stuck mustaches on the screen at random, and waited for them to align with faces. Twilight in itself is already pretty funny due to its cultural relativity, but seeing Edward with a hot pink twirly mustache made us lose it. We laughed so hard we couldn't breathe. I didn't even finish the movie.


Summary: We worked on our one pagers.


Reflection: I learned that religion has a strong hold in western culture. I will use this to connect to how I see the world through Christian influenced lenses.

Prompt Response: I was never good at comforting people. It's my worst nightmare to comfort someone incorrectly and make things worse. Despite this, my friend needed someone to talk to and I was going to be there for them no matter what. Prompt Response: In Mean Girls, there is the stereotype that the perfect girls are skinny and girly. The film also depicts nerds as being a bunch of guys that love math. At that time it made me think that pretty girls were selfish and shallow. Summary: We watched stereotypes about Asian and black women. Reflection: I learned about the stereotypes from my culture. I will use this to fight back against bias.

Prompt Response: I believed that I would always be friends with my first best friend. We were best friends for around seven years before we stopped being friends. I realized that we had grown apart and that there wasn't anything I could do about it. I realized that overtime you meet new people and lose your old friends, and that is just how life goes. Everyone needs to move on. Summary: We read more of The Color Purple and wrote a poem. Reflection: I realized that women have always been fighting for more freedom. I will use this to continue fighting for women's rights.
