It’s Homecoming Week! ๐ŸŽ‰ What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

Prompt Response: I love being able to talk to many of my peers and teachers about many relatable subjects. My favorite way to show off my school spirit is by dressing up during homecoming week. I really enjoy being able to dress up, and being able to do that for school spirit is really fun. My favorite Homecoming tradition is hanging out with friends before the actual dance. It's really great to socialize with my peers.

Summary: We shared and presented our storyboards.

Reflection: I learned that certain subjects are universal even if they are not the same experience. I will use this information to relate to others.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?
